State League of Women Voters - Voter Guide

ATTENTION - REGISTERED VOTERS
Petitions are now available for City Council seats.

Council members for the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th districts will be elected at the November general election. These are two (2) year terms.

The following qualifications are required:

Must be a registered voter of the City for not less than two (2) years immediately preceding the filing deadline.
Must currently be registered and live in the open district.
Must be at least 25 years old as of the filing deadline.

Deadline for returning petitions is Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

ALSO ELECTION INSPECTORS NEEDED

Election inspectors are people who are paid to assist voters at the polls on election day. Registered voters interested in serving as election inspectors must submit an election inspector application available at the City Clerk’s office. Applicants must be registered voters in Manistee County. Anyone convicted of a felony or an elections crime may not serve. Call (231) 398-2803 for more information.
